PRO Week 3

This season is shaping out to be a good one. While SP is on top of there division and have shown that they mean business by beating both SPS and 8BC 5-1. FR has also shown they are a good team at 2-0 and atop there division as well. Both of these teams look to take early control of there conferences. And need to win this week to do so.

BnR (1-1) vs SP (2-0)

So far it has truly shown that as Jordy goes, BnR goes. Jordy can't carry this team by his self and the only other players that have a winning record is Jim and Croz, and those 2 won't be able to assist Jordy in carry every week. This week they face a tough test in SP. SP is loaded and if they bring there top players BnR will need there top players and they will need them to perform at top level. Mina hasn't been on form lately and they will need him to play well. SP if Roy, Cubby, Craig, Mike and Kev all play, this could be a blowout. SP hasn't been forced into a carry situation this season partly because of there revamped roster. They clearly have the talent to carry though and if there recent success in interleagues proves anything, it shows that they have the team unity to do it. This will be a tough one for BnR and I don't think that they will match up good with SP. 5-2 SP

SPS (0-2) vs 8BC (1-1)

SPS got manhandled by BnR last week after the 5-1 loss against SP. 8BC didn't fair to well either. They lost 5-1 to SP. If 8BC brings there top players they should handle SPS easily. SPS will need Joe and Jason to play well, and will need some of 8BC's players to falter in order to really stand a chance in this one. If 8BC shows with Raj, Matt, Jay and Niks, this one will be over quick. I don't see SPS playing very well in this one. Against a strong 8BC team when they're on. 8BC is just too overpowering for SPS.

5-2 8BC

FR (2-0) vs LPL (1-1)

FR has a strong team again this season and LPL can't keep showing with 3 or 4 players. If LPL can bring 5 each week they have a chance to take this one from FR. But if FR shows with Nish, Trav, Matt they should take this one quite easy. (Sorry late on this pred)

SS (1-1) vs DS (1-1)

Fight for 2nd in the conference here. SS revamped there roster with Ant, Stephen, and Cam and with keeping Pita, they could be a real threat. But if I'm hearing right, DS might have a card or two up there sleeves. SS will need to make sure there team unity is there, and that Ant, Cam and Stephen can show up every week. Pita can't do it alone and neither can Ant, Cam or Stephen they will all need to pick up key wins. If this happens SS will be good this season. However, DS with Eddie captaining should be a threat also. DS already has a big win over LPL and that should be a great boost to there confidence. I think DS puts up a fight and comes out and wins this one in a shocker.

Week 2 Preds

Weird week last week.....all the away teams won. DS beat LPL 5-2, 8BC beat BnR, FR beat SS and SP beat SPS. Will SP continue there dominance they've had in WSOP into PRO and Prove that there a threat in all interleagues? And will SS be able to have Ant play all season in all interleagues? This season is shaping up to be a interesting one.

SP (1-0) vs 8BC (1-0)

SP comes in with high confidence dismantling SPS last week while 8BC had to go the full 9 games with BnR. SP comes in with Craig, Kev, Mike, Cubby, Roy all at the ready. With people like Candi, Ste, Kerry and Carlos all on the side and ready to play at a moments notice 8BC looks to be heavily outmatched in this match. 8BC has picked up Rocky who carried vs BnR last week, but BnR isn't as loaded as SP seems to be this season. If Craig, Kev, Mike and Cubby can show week in and week out they can do great things and possibly go undefeated. 8BC will need Rocky, Raj, Matt and JJ to play out of there minds to beat SP. SP's starting lineup rivals the best in PRO this season and will be dangerous for anyone. 8BC looks to be fighting an uphill battle that can't be won.

5-2 SP

BnR (0-1) vs SPS (0-1)

Both teams looking for there first win and one of em will get it. BnR looks to be the favorites and they clearly are. With Mina, Ross and Jordy all ready to do great things for this team BnR could do well this season. However there main threat is SP. SPS should be no problem this match. SPS can't rely on Joe and Jason to carry them, they need alot of depth and great players. If they can somehow recruit Trey or someone like him to anchor that team maybe they have a chance at 3rd. But I don't see them winning this match. BnR with Mina and Jordy at the ready is just too overpowered. but if we learned anything from this past week anything can happen so don't count SPS out. But it will be a longshot and a tough battle for them to win this.

5-2 BnR

SS (0-1) vs LPL (0-1)

Okay, so last week I would have said LPL would dominate SS. But with Jon, Pita and Ant all playing for SS, it could be a long night for LPL. SS picked Ant up and he played WSOP and almost lost. However big things will happen for SS if Ant can play each week. They can't rely on him to carry each week though. They will need Pita to help Ant. Especially if Daru and Luis pick up wins. Daru lost last week in PRO and that basically ruined LPL's chances. They will need to show up with more than 3 each week if they look to repeat there performance from last season. So LPL, get it together. SS will be no pushover and Ant can easily carry this team to victory. However look for Pita to be on form and help Ant with that carry.

5-3 SS

DS (1-0) vs FR (1-0)

DS surprised me last week in beating LPL. However with Scott on there team now they are upgraded. With him and Eddie carrying them vs LPL this conference could shape out to be a close one. Eddie will need Scott to show up each week and Eddie himself will need to be on form. Those two can't do it themselves though and will need support from Adam and other role players to stand a chance. If Eddie can pick up 1 or 2 more key players like Scott DS could make a run for the playoffs. FR won last week with Trav and Andy carrying them. The "pro" clan will need to be "pro" this week if they look to avoid LPL's fate and have Eddie and Scott carry against them. Petey will need Nish, Trav, Andy and Dan to all show up and play. If this doesn't happen then FR could be in trouble and DS could go to 2-0. I expect this to be a dog fight to the end with FR pulling it out in the 9th game.

5-4 FR

Week 1 Preds

So the season is underway and the first week looks to have some decent matchups. With 2 HUGE matchups in 8bc vs BnR and FR vs SS. This season looks to be a close one in both conferences, who will come out on top?

8BC (0-0) vs BnR (0-0)

8BC has been good as of recent and has suprised people in WSOP. They beat BnR 4-3 in WSOP, but PRO is totally different, they can'r rely on a tiebreak, and can't afford getting down 3-1 early. 8BC needs there top guns for this match, this includes Raj, Matt, JJ and Kron. BnR is going to bring there top guns, which may prove trouble for 8BC. Raj carried them most of the season last season, he may need a repeat performance. But with Matt on there side this season and with JJ playing decent that adds some depth. But BnR with Mina, Jordy, and Ross as there main 3, it could prove a short night. I doubt 8BC will let BnR shut them out, but if BnR brings the 3 aforementioned players, along with Crozzy and if Crozzy can get a key win, BnR could take this one easy. Look for BnR to get redemption and not let this one go as easy as the WSOP match.

5-2 BnR

SP (0-0) vs SPS (0-0)

SP looked solid in there last WSOP match, and with the surprise adding of Kevin, SP looks to be even more dominant then they were before. With Mike, Kev, Craig, Roy, and Cubby rivaling any 5 in PRO SPS looks to be in trouble. SP really restructured this offseason, keeping members of last seasons team while dropping Shane and Timm. Missy could come back this season and if she does that adds even more depth. But with role players like Kerry, Ste, Adam, Jamie, Ketan, Brice and Candi, SP looks like they're alot stronger than people expected this season. On the other side. SPS has Jason, Monte, and Joe, and if those 3 don't start playing like top players this Match will be short. SPS came into this season looking to make playoffs, but that could get off to a fast halt and give them a reality check. This match is a uphill battle that I don't think SPS can win.

5-1 SP

FR (0-0) vs SS (0-0)

This is my match of the week. FR coming in off a disappointing end to there season last season on dominating there conference and falling short to LPL is looking to come back firing. If DJ plays for FR and Petey can get Trav, Sid, Nish, Matt all to show up it could be another dominating regular season for FR. FR is looking to be the big dogs and prove that they are the best team in PRO, but they won't have a easy task. Because with LPL and SS in there conference it could get dicey. FR looks to prove that they're the top team however in this conference and look to open with a dominating win over a vulnerable SS team. SS will definitely need Jon and Pita to show, and just not show, but carry this SS team. With the loss of Craig there star-power went down. However they did add Scott, but can be be relied on? If Scott can be reliable then SS could put up a fight in this match. I don't however, I just think FR has much more skill and more determination in this match and seeing as they have been together the longest and SS had to add players quickly they could be in trouble. Will SS prove they are a team to be messed with? Or will they fall to the bottom quickly and be forced to mount a comeback like they did last season? FR comes away with this one.

5-2 FR

DS (0-0) vs LPL (0-0)

Welcome DS back to PRO. However, DS will need more than Eddie to take out LPL. Thomas can pick up some wins yes, but he can't be relied on to carry a team. Eddie looks to be DS's best player, and if he gets taken out, as well as w00dman, I'm sorry to say but this will be a shutout. DS needs to focus on beating Daru, last seasons MVP. If DS can take out Daru, then it could be a easier match for them. DS, will need to add a few more players or recruit from within and prove they have the skill to compete. For LPL, with MJ withdrawing and Kevin being on and off, and never knowing when they will show up, what will happen? Daru will need to show up with Luis, Oscar and Tino. If they do that than its possible that LPL can shutout DS. however as I said before. LPL will need to prove they can continually show up with 5, cause 3 may not get it done. I have confidence that LPL will show up with 5, but DS could show up with 5 and could be more hungry and take out LPL. But I don't see that happening. LPL should take this one. Possibly a shutout, but I don't think Eddie will allow LPL to shut them out.

5-3 LPL

Team Reports

This is just a overview of the teams and what to expect out of them.

Atlantic Conference

8BC

8BC needs a strong showing in this conference and if WSOP shows us anything it proves that 8BC can play against the big dogs. Raj had to be there MVP last season carrying them alot. They will need more than Raj this season however if they look to compete. They will need Matt, JJ, Niks and Kron to all step up with Raj. If this doesn't happen 8BC could be in for a long season. I don't think they will have the roster to compete for first in there division, but if WSOP has shown anything, 8BC can pull upsets. So what will happen? Will 8BC hang with the big dogs? Or will they be in a fight for 3rd. There Key Players to watch are Raj, JJ and Matt, if those 3 show up on a consistent basis they may be able to compete.

BNR

BnR with Dina captaining still should do good in this conference. But they will need Jordy and Mina to show each week. If Saf comes back and plays for BnR that could help them out as well. But BnR will definitely need a strong roster. If they don't want to have a performance like they did in WSOP vs 8BC they need to make sure they are focused each match and that Jordy and Mina will be able to win close out matches. BnR does have a roster that can win it if they can close matches out. They have 3 people that legitimately can carry vs teams in Croz, Jordy and Mina. Those are there 3 key players. If those 3 can show consistently then BnR should have a strong season.

SP

SP has a down season last season, after starting off strong, they had a bad mid-season collapse and lost there way out of the playoffs. But with a roster this season that rivals the best rosters in PRO, SP could be on the verge of making a solid playoff run and a run to the finals. The off-season PFN pickups in Kerry, Carlos, Cubby and Brent, and if Scotty can show at times they will be a strong team. With the late addition of Craig last season and him returning this season and making SP his home league that makes SP even stronger. With Mike returning and the pickup of Roy SP looks to be one of the best overall teams in PRO this season and in all of interleagues. SP is one of the few teams that have more than 3 keyplayers to watch. With a strong roster there 4 keyplayers to watch are Cubby, Craig, Roy and Mike. If all 4 of those can show on a consistent basis even if they sit one or 2 of those a couple weeks, they look to dominate this conference.

SPS

SPS looks to have drawn the short stick and with no real top tier players they will need to rely on Joe, Monte and Jason to carry them to victory. Joe will need to make sure he can get all of his players to play well on a consistent basis to have any shot of beating some of these teams. SPS is overmatched in all areas of the game in this conference, yet this conference is probably best for them to be in. Cause I think if they try hard enough they can compete with 8BC. With it being carry format, anything can happen though. SPS has 3 key players which I mentioned before, Joe, Monte and Jason need to show that they can compete, if they don't then SPS needs to just hope and pray that they can do well enough to make playoffs.

Pacific

DS

Welcome DS back to PRO. DS has a tough road ahead of them but if they can get some good players on there side they might be able to compete. They will need to recruit 1 or 2 strong players to play beside Eddie though. Eddie, will need to prove that his team can compete and he will need to make sure he's ready to help carry this team. However, there may be some hidden people, Roy on his good days can play decent pool. Jake will need to help carry this team along with Eddie. If history repeats itself, SS will be fighting with DS for 3rd. DS will need to make sure there mentally ready cause this is gonna be a tough season for them. 3 players to watch. Eddie, Jake, w00dman

FR

FR is going to look to have a repeat performance of last seasons regular season and win there division. However with LPL back in there division and if SS can get back to there old self FR may have some stiff competition. But FR is the other team in PRO that I think has 4 key players to watch. If Petey can get his main guys at the table each week he should win this conference. But he needs to make sure that Ben, AB, Sid and Matt can show at the table each week. If they show they could make the finals and look to take the finals this season. There real main competition however I think will be LPL. However I still think FR is the favorite to make finals in this Conference. Key Players to watch. Ben, AB, Sid, Matt

LPL

LPL lost MJ this off-season as he withdrew. Will he come back is the question, and if not, can they pick up Ant or someone? Daru can't be relied on to do it all this season again. LPL will also need to show up with more than 3 and make sure that the 5 the need to show up with can win week in and week out. If Daru and Tino can show up along with Chex and occasionally Luis and a couple roleplayers LPL could fight with FR. I really don't think that LPL will keep up with FR. However anything can happen in carry and that has shown itself. Key Players to watch for LPL are Daru, Tino, and Chex

SS

SS lost Craig, and it could hurt them. They do still have Pita and Jon, but with Jon making his own league, could that effect SS's ability to play as a cohesive team? Could we be seeing the demise of SS? I think not. Jon and Pita should carry this team but they will need a 3rd guy, who will that 3rd guy/gal be? Will it be Thieu? Sterlo? Dan? Or possibly Scott? This question is left for SS to answer. They will need a 3rd strong player if they wish to compete against FR and LPL, if they don't have a real strong 3rd player they could be doomed. Yes, I know, Jon and Pita combined could carry vs any team out there, I get that. But they don't want to rely on those 2 week in and week out, cause face it, they will lose games. So whose the third guy? I think that Scott will come through and start playing more for SS and in interleagues will be that third person they can rely on. If so watch out SS could be a force, but that is just theoretical. So, key players to watch for SS. Pita, Jon, Scott (maybe)

Preseason Report for Season 13

We got a re-structuring of the Conferences and the addition of 2 new Admins. I'd like to welcome Myself and Dan to the Admin team. The conferences this season look like this

Atlantic

8BC
BnR
SP
SPS

Pacific

DS
FR
LPL
SS

Now, in the Atlantic Conference I think the top spot will be fought for in between the restructured and powerful SP team, and the powerful BnR team. 8BC and SPS will be fighting for the 3rd playoff spot. With SP loading up especially for PRO and BnR coming back with the same team they had last season it could be a hard fought fight in the Atlantic Conference. Question is, can SP avoid a 3rd mid season collapse?

In the Pacific Conference it looks almost academic, FR, LPL, and SS will make playoffs, or will they? SS has been faltering lately and if DS brings a solid team back to PRO DS could upset SS. LPL needs to show though and not pull a no show like they did in week 1 in UIC, and will need to rely on More than Daru to carry them this season. FR if they bring DJ, Sid, Andy, AB and Trav weekly they could dominate this division. Question is, can Petey get all 4 of those guys at the table at once?

This PRO season looks like one that could be filled with dominant teams and huge Storylines. All eyes will probably be on SP and if they can prove that they are a team to be threatened with, along with FR, if they can dominate this season as well only to lose in playoffs. With MJ not on LPL's team anymore, LPL will need some more backup, who will they recruit? This season should be a good one folks. Look for a great season and some great matches, and look for my Preds and midseason report.
